Introducing Stockspot Themes

The most important decision when investing is choosing how much to invest in each asset class. For that reason it’s of utmost importance that investors don’t take on too much (or too little) risk in any one asset. Closely monitoring each asset relative to the size of your portfolio, and rebalancing when necessary, helps to optimise long-term performance and reduce risk.

Building on this philosophy, we’re excited to now offer the ability for qualifying clients to further personalise their strategy with investment themes.

Stockspot Themes gives you more control over your choice of investments, while still ensuring that your investment strategy is continually optimised by Stockspot based on your investment goals and risk profile.

What is Stockspot Themes?

Stockspot Themes allows qualifying clients in the Gold and Platinum fee tiers to personalise their portfolio with a range of investment themes. A ‘theme’ is an area of the market which clients can choose to have a greater focus on in their portfolio. For example, a geographic region (such as Japan or the U.S.), asset class (global property or bonds), or a range of other factors (small or large companies, dividend shares or socially responsible shares).

Clients are able to mix and match different themes according to their investment strategy and personal preferences.

Like the Stockspot Model Portfolios, themes are diversified across many different companies and help clients diversify their portfolio to reduce risk.

For instance, those wanting a greater focus on income can add Australian dividend shares and high interest cash. Or those who feel passionately about ethical investing can add Australian socially responsible shares.

Stockspot continues to manage the hassles of selecting and reviewing each fund, rebalancing, re-investments, administration and tax reporting.

  1. Hi Chris,

publishing the name and details of the ETF that pertains to each of the themes would help in choosing which themes we were interested in. For example, I updated my themes to include Global property, but did not knot where my funds would be invested.
