From 16 September 2025, Stockspot clients will be able to access Themes from $20,000, down from the previous $50,000 entry point.
We’ve made this change because more investors are looking for the right balance: the security of a professionally managed portfolio, with the flexibility to reflect their own views and interests. Lowering the threshold makes that balance available earlier in your investing journey.
What are Themes?
Themes let you tilt your portfolio towards specific countries, sectors or strategies while keeping the foundation of diversification, daily liquidity and professional oversight that Stockspot is known for.
- You can choose up to three Themes at a time.
- Each Theme is built from a low-cost exchange traded fund (ETF).
- Once added, your portfolio is adjusted so each Theme makes up around 5–10% of your overall allocation.
Themes are completely optional. For many clients, they’re not needed at all – the core Stockspot portfolios are designed to provide broad diversification and strong long-term performance without any adjustments. But for those who want to express their own views, Themes provide a simple and disciplined way to do it.
If you’d like to dive deeper into how they work, we’ve put together a full guide on how to use Stockspot Themes.
Why the change matters
Until now, Themes were only available to clients with $50,000 or more invested. Thanks to the growth of our client base and the scale we’ve built, we can now lower the entry point to $20,000.
This means more investors can personalise their portfolios earlier. For example:
- A retiree might add dividend shares for extra income.
- An experienced investor could now choose our new cryptocurrency Themes – Bitcoin or Ethereum ETFs – to add a small allocation to this emerging asset class.
- Someone excited about innovation and artificial intelligence might add the NASDAQ Theme for extra exposure to U.S. tech giants like Apple, Microsoft, and Nvidia.

How to get started
You can add or change Themes anytime in the Your Investments section of your Stockspot dashboard. Simply select your preferred Themes and we’ll adjust your portfolio automatically.
Whether you stick with your core portfolio or choose to add Themes, the most important thing is that your investments stay simple, diversified, and aligned to your long-term goals.
